Description

Tsomoriri, a Ramsar site and protected Wetland Conservation Area, is not just a lake—it’s a vital breeding ground for migratory bird species, including rare and endangered ones. Hosting a greater number of birds compared to Pangong Tso, the northern end of Tso Moriri features an extensive wetland area, making it an ideal breeding ground. For visitors on the Tso Moriri trip, this is a bird-watching haven as they easily spot these birds on the way to Korzok village.

Similar to Pangong Tso, Tso Moriri is a drainage basin, rendering its water undrinkable. With a maximum depth of 40 metres, the lake spans 25 km in length and 3 to 6 km in width. Situated at an altitude of 4593 metres, Korzok village, nestled on its banks, stands as one of the highest villages globally. The journey to Tso Moriri unveils not just a lake but a sanctuary of nature’s wonders.

Inclusion & Exclusion

Included in the Tour:

  • Inner Line Permit: Included for all places mentioned in the itinerary.
  • Airport Pickup and Drop: Hassle-free transfers to and from the airport.
  • Transportation: Comfortable Toyota Innova or Mahindra Xylo vehicle. For larger groups (more than 6 Pax), a Force Traveller will be provided.
  • Accommodation: Double sharing basis in the specified hotel or similar.
  • Meals: Breakfast and lunch included.
  • Oxygen Cylinder: Available in the car for the entire duration of the tour.
  • Sightseeing and Excursions: All mentioned activities are included as per the itinerary.

Not Included in the Tour:

  • Airfare: Flight expenses are not included in the package.
  • Additional Items: Any other expenses not specified in the cost inclusion.
  • Entry Fees: Entrance fees to Monastery or Monuments are not covered.
  • Unforeseen Events: Costs arising from unforeseen events like landslides, roadblocks, etc.
  • Air Conditioning: If air conditioning in the car is requested, it will be charged separately at ₹5/km.
  • Travel Insurance: Insurance coverage for travel is not part of the package.
  • GST: Goods and Services Tax at the rate of 5% is not included in the package cost
Itinerary
Day 1 – Reach Leh | Acclimatise | Evening Sightseeing | Distance 25 km
  • Arrive at Leh; our representative will transfer you to the hotel for a traditional welcome.
  • Acclimatise to the new altitude and stay hydrated.
  • Evening visit to Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace, and the local market.
  • Return to the hotel for a good rest.
Day 2 – Lamayuru (Moonland of Ladakh) | Sham Valley Sightseeing | Distance 120 km
  • Explore Sham Valley: visit the Hall of Fame, Magnetic Hill, and Sangam Point.
  • Head to Lamayuru, known as the Moonland of Ladakh, believed to be underwater.
  • Check-in at the hotel, visit the Monastery, and relax.
Day 3 – Back to Leh | Alchi Monastery | Likir Monastery | Distance 135 km
  • After breakfast, return to Leh via the same route.
  • Visit Alchi and Likir Monasteries on the way.
  • Back to the hotel and relax.
Day 4 –Leh to Nubra Valley | Khardung-La (Highest Motorable Road) | Distance 130 km
  • Exciting day: drive through Khardung-La pass for stunning valley and mountain views.
  • Enjoy a camel ride at Hunder.
  • Back to the camp/hotel for the night.
Day 5 – Nubra to Pangong Lake via Shayok | Distance 150 km
  • Drive through Shayok valley to Pangong Lake on the Indo-China border.
  • Soak in the magnificent beauty of Pangong Lake.
  • Overnight stay at the camp.
Day 6 – Pangong to Tsomoriri via Tsaga-La Pass | Distance 190 km
  • Early morning drive to Tsomoriri; witness wild asses on the way.
  • Long but spectacular journey; night stay in a camp.

Day 7 – Back to Leh | Tso Kar Lake and Taklang-La (Second Highest Motorable Road) | Distance 220 km
  • Start early for a long journey back to Leh.
  • Visit Tsokar Lake and stop at the picturesque landscape of Taklang-La pass.
  • Explore Leh market for souvenirs and local cuisine; stay at the hotel.
Day 8 – Flight | Distance 5 km

Booking Information:

  • To reserve a slot 30% Payment should be transferred
  • Balance payment due 15 days before the tour starts
  • Endeavour Ladakh is not responsible for roadblocks, flight cancellations, or unforeseen situations
  • For children aged 5-8 yrs, it’s 30% of the total cost (without bed)
  • Children above 8 yrs are considered adults (extra mattress provided)

Cancellation Policy:

  • 10% cancellation charges if cancelled 30 days prior to the tour.
  • 25% cancellation charges if cancelled within 20 days prior to the tour.
  • 50% cancellation charges if cancelled within 10 days prior to the tour.
  • No refund for tours starting within 10 days, after starting, or in the middle of the tour.
