PANGONG LAKE ADVENTURE

Time to trade the quiet corners of gompas for the vast beauty of Pangong Lake! Lace up those walking shoes, breathe in the fresh air, and get ready for a visual treat. Oh, and definitely pack your camera for this one – the Pangong Lake Tour awaits.

Situated at an average altitude of 4000 metres, the lake promises stunning scenery and a bit of chill in the air, so dress accordingly. To reach Pangong, you’ll conquer the Chang-La pass at a lofty 5300 metres. Keep in mind, even in summer, the Changthang region can surprise you with snow showers.

Did you know? Over 70% of the lake lies in Tibet, while 30% is in India. Stretching 134 km in length and 5 km in width, Pangong Lake freezes completely in winter despite being saline.

Why is the Pangong Lake Tour famous? Well, it’s a haven for migratory birds in summer and served as a backdrop for the iconic 3 Idiots movie. Bikers love exploring the picturesque villages around this beautiful lake.

Here’s a fun fact: Due to its saline water, Pangong Lake is home to zero fish. Ready for an adventure by the shimmering waters?

Inclusion & Exclusion

Included in the Tour:

  • Inner Line Permit: Included for all places mentioned in the itinerary.
  • Airport Pickup and Drop: Hassle-free transfers to and from the airport.
  • Transportation: Comfortable Toyota Innova or Mahindra Xylo vehicle. For larger groups (more than 6 Pax), a Force Traveller will be provided.
  • Accommodation: Double sharing basis in the specified hotel or similar.
  • Meals: Breakfast and lunch included.
  • Oxygen Cylinder: Available in the car for the entire duration of the tour.
  • Sightseeing and Excursions: All mentioned activities are included as per the itinerary.

Not Included in the Tour:

  • Airfare: Flight expenses are not included in the package.
  • Additional Items: Any other expenses not specified in the cost inclusion.
  • Entry Fees: Entrance fees to Monastery or Monuments are not covered.
  • Unforeseen Events: Costs arising from unforeseen events like landslides, roadblocks, etc.
  • Air Conditioning: If air conditioning in the car is requested, it will be charged separately at ₹5/km.
  • Travel Insurance: Insurance coverage for travel is not part of the package.
  • GST: Goods and Services Tax at the rate of 5% is not included in the package cost
Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrive in Leh | Evening Sightseeing | Distance 5 km
  • Arrive at Leh airport and transfer to the hotel.
  • Acclimatise to the new altitude by taking sips of water every 15 minutes and resting until the evening.
  • Visit Leh Palace and Shanti Stupa for town views and photography.
  • Shop for souvenirs or local cuisine in the marketplace.
Day 2 – Sham Valley Sightseeing | Distance 70 km
  • Mild excursion for acclimatisation.
  • Visit the Hall of Fame, Magnetic Hill, Pathar Sahib Gurdwara, and Sangam Point.
  • Avoid running or brisk walking.
  • Return to the hotel and rest.
Day 3 – Leh to Nubra Valley | Khardung-La (World’s Highest Motorable Road) | Distance 130 km
  • Pass through Khardung-La to Nubra Valley.
  • Visit Hunder village for double-humped camel riding and a cultural show.
  • Check into your camp/hotel and retire.
Day 4 –Back to Leh | Diskit Monastery | Distance 135 km
  • Visit Diskit Gompa (photography not allowed).
  • Explore the local bazaar in the evening.
Day 5 – Pangong Lake Tour | Chang-La (Third Highest Motorable Road) | Distance 150 km
  • Leave for Pangong Lake, passing through Chang-La into the Changthang Plateau.
  • Relax by the soothing shoreline.
  • Stay at a camp near the lake.
Day 6 – Back to Leh via the Same Route | Distance 150 km
  • Drive back to Leh and visit the 3-Idiot movie shooting point.
  • Visit Rancho School (Druk Padma Karpo School).
  • Check into the hotel and relax.
Day 7 – Departure | Distance 5 km
  • Morning transfer to the airport for your scheduled flight.
  • Tour ends with memories from the Ladakh Tour.

Booking Information:

  • To reserve a slot 30% Payment should be transferred
  • Balance payment due 15 days before the tour starts
  • Endeavour Ladakh is not responsible for roadblocks, flight cancellations, or unforeseen situations
  • For children aged 5-8 yrs, it’s 30% of the total cost (without bed)
  • Children above 8 yrs are considered adults (extra mattress provided)

Cancellation Policy:

  • 10% cancellation charges if cancelled 30 days prior to the tour.
  • 25% cancellation charges if cancelled within 20 days prior to the tour.
  • 50% cancellation charges if cancelled within 10 days prior to the tour.
  • No refund for tours starting within 10 days, after starting, or in the middle of the tour.
